Primary Purpose:

Under the guidance of the Food Service manager provide duties of a helper during the absence of the regular employee.

 

Note: Substitute employees are employed on an as-needed, on-call, day-to-day basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis.  There are no benefits associated with substitute employment.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:

A minimum of a HS Diploma or GED certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures 

Excellent communication skills

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Assist in the day-to-day food service operations.
  2. Ensure adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
  3. Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.

 

Professionalism, Communication, and Additional Responsibilities

  1. Perform other related duties as assigned by Food Service manager in accordance with school policies and practices.
  2. Work cooperatively with other staff.
  3. Maintain confidentiality of all information concerning students, staff, and/or parent/guardian.
